Well, I am just starting to Wastelands. Regarding to my experiences with Black Ring members, I found that Elemental Hail(level 5-all from books <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />) served me well. I constantly (I mean it) cast that on them and they were halted that they couldn't move or even cast spell or attack. I took me some minor restoration potions but every time the fight ended in 15 seconds with victory. I think it worth the potions. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
Whatever you do, play aggressive...
As Dragon wrote, best defense is to attack. Don't give them a chance... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />
