Hi,

I've got a big problem. I wanted to show a new game to a friend and auto-quick saves during it erased my 80 hours game.

Is there anything I can do to get it back ?

Do you have any recent backups of your My Documents (or ~/documents on Mac) folder?
Maybe a Windows shadow copy? Right click a quick/auto save folder in Windows Explorer and select 'Restore previous versions', if available (or right click, Properties, Previous Versions tab).

Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames' folder.


You can increase the number of quicksaves and autosaves kept in the Game options (up to 25), which will reduce the chance of overwriting your most recent saves if you try a new game for some reason and forget to switch to a different profile.
Periodic named saves are always a good idea. Saves are fairly compressible, especially if you have a bunch of saves and use something like 7-Zip's .7z archive format.

I'll try this but i don't think i have any backups... And this "restore previous versions" i never saw it.

Ok so :

- I don't think I have any Backup of myDocuments or I don't know where it would be. I searched for "QuickSave_" in explorer on my whole computer but found nothing...
- I didn't know what is windows shadow copy. After google searching i found that it's a kind of backup you initiate. And I didn't do anything like that...
- I right-clicked every single folder but nerver saw a "restore previous versions" option nor in "Properties, Previous Versions tab"

I think I'm truly f***ed -_-'

If someone has an idea I'll try everything.
