Greetings oh mighty savior!

Sometimes everything lags, sometimes its just the sound. it doesnt seem bandwidth related as it happens offline too.

I'm on an asus G73JW laptop and I cleaned the inside and put new thermal paste under the processor not long ago and its running cool.

I tried reformatting my harddrives, reinstalling windows 7, downloaded the latest drivers for my gfx card and chipset, got the latest .net framework and directx11 but still the lags happen.

I also tried putting the settings down to the very lowest and I still get thesame lags even though I can otherwise get around 120fps.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Perhaps that's a part of my problem, but in my case sounds arent entirely missing but sometimes choppy and the game itself too. my FPS will be fine and then suddenly drop to 0 at random for up to about half a second.

Perhaps I can somehow emulate a different sound card and see if the problem persists?

Is a refund possible in case it cant be fixed?

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?

Have you tried other, similarly demanding DirectX games?

Thanks for the reply,

I just tried running the game after uninstalling my AVG(I couldnt shut it down, only disable it so i temporarily removed it for the sake of the test) and shutting down all non-essential programs and still got the same lags.

I'm installing COD: black ops now just to see if it gets thesame lags or not.

I have exactly the same issue. On laptop with Intel core i7, GeForce GTX 860M and 8GB of RAM, with fresh installation of Windows 8.1, and Divinity graphics configured by GeForce experience app I am experiencing the same issues as you are.

In my case I have copied my profiles folders from other machine, and expected this to be the culprit. Now I am experimenting with using newly-created profile, and copying only Savegames folders, will report on the results.

Curious thing - I have just entered "second" map - Silvergren and so far (one hour of gameplay) the stuterring problem didn't appear.

From my observation the pauses/stuterring happens mostly when game tries to load a sound sample for battle-related events.

I'm also suffering from frequent audio lags/dropouts in this game.
I'm using an Asus Xonar DX sound card running stereo headphones, the output is set to 2 channels.
Any other games (also more demanding ones) are fine.

My specs are:

Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64
Intel i5-3570 3,4 GHz
8 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 660 (driver version 344.11)
Asus Xonar DX audio card
