I'm working on a mod for Divinity - it's a standalone, so it won't be able to be added to the main game but it should be done in the next couple of weeks.
It's going to be geared toward 2 players (playable by 1 too), and it's going to be a survival themed game.
I don't want to give away too much, but while combat will be available, it'll be extremely dangerous and deadly. Players are discouraged from fighting.
Would a mod that discourages fighting still be of interest to anyone? It'll have plenty of ways to die and some cool new features that Divinity didn't offer, as well as a good challenge.

It's certainly possible to make games without fighting in them. I was considering making a "Thief" style mod for Original Sin where fighting was also discouraged.
So the question is: if there is no fighting in your mod, what will the gameplay revolve around. Will be it some kind of find-the-item adventure game? A puzzle game?
You have not given enough information about what your mod is for people to give an answer which would actually help you. Just tell us, no one will steal your great mod idea.

Survival ... I believe his Mod will be some kind of "escape" game ? Or "survival of the fittest" ? Full of traps ? Or : you NEED to drink/eat from time to time or you become mor e& more weak(er) ? I just make some speculations !

Okay. Then in answer to your question "would you play a mod like this", then my answer is: No, absolutely not. -or- Yes, definitely. Hope that helps!

A Working Version of this mod is available on STEAM. It's called "Zombie Time". Original name, right?
Check it out! It started as an experiment in scripting and turned into a full, hour or so long, corny game. 2 Players recommended!
Features: -Hunger system: Eat or starve to death. Scavenge for food or hunt deer! -Time cycle (Wasn't able to make a visible day/night cycle, but time passes in this game) -Roaming / Respawning / Random monsters -Random placement of quest items for replay value. -An epic ending so bad you'll probably never play again.
Enjoy!

Hello,
For people without Steam (I got the GOG version), is it possible to try your mod, or it's only possible to load it with Steam?

Thank you! I just installed it, and it works. Unfortunately, I won't have time to play today. PS for people who doesn't know how to intsall/play mods (like me): 1) I had to create an empty folder "Mods" there: C:\Users\*user_name*\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2) In this "Mods" folder, I put the dowloaded "xxx.pak" file. 3) In the game menu, I simply chose "Mods", then I selected this mod ("zombie time"), then new game!

It's got a little learning curve - it's hard to win. Play it with a friend, learn it and hopefully have fun with it.
It's a cheesy little game that was more of an experiment in scripting at first so don't expect greatness lol
Just a hint - fish and pumpkins and apples can respawn each day, so if you need food check the waters edge and the gardens and stuff

You can just find it on steam in the workshop. There aren't many mods in existence so it's easy to track down.
On steam you just "Subscribe" to a mod, and it'll auto update and download as new versions are released.

Sorry if it was confusing... As I said Joram, I don't use Steam: it's the reason why I used the other way to install this mod!

@chouia: no problem at all! I had to be sure, but playing on Steam all goes well to play Zombie Time (today my first time try it out for 2 hours) About Zombie Time: special to play being hungry ... but if I understand the game I can always go sleeping in a bed as long as I want without starving of hunger, correct ? And that's okay for me But I wonder if my two survivors will find a hammer or a knife or a cooking pot, a fire, ... to make more and better recipes ? I really hope that would be possible dear Burgee ? But so far it's a new experience ! The "world" is a little bit "empty" for my liking, but yeah, maybe that's just THE purpose to create a Zombie Time ? Till next time !

It's funny, when I was mapping the game out I was afraid it was going to be too small... until it was completed. The world is definitely big bordering on too big. To keep the gameplay intact I can't really add much more to the world. The whole point is to have no NPCs but I still may go back and re-map it a bit in the future. Also - you will still starve laying in a bed, so don't try that =) Right now the only food in the game is Apples, Pumpkins, Fish and the ever-rare but wonderfully filling Deer meat.

Each time I do a savegame ... after that the mod crashes and I need to end the program (D:OS) ! not funny anymore ... sorry ... And there isn't enough food to collect, my survivors are so fast hungry again plus they lose strength, EVEN if I tried to read all the dialogtext by the ghost at the Lighthouse ... that's not fair ....

I can't seem to make mine crash when I load a game... not sure why that's happening. I'm sorry you're having trouble with that.
