Can someone please make a mod where the text is read out loud so I don't have to do all that reading? I like everything about the game except it's massive amount of required reading. Another problem is that nearly all the text from npcs is exactly the same.

No... not going to happen wink

It's not that I don't get where you come from, heck I read about half the dialogs only peripherally wink Meaning I skimmed over them looking for parts that are important and ignored the rest.... it's how I cope with games that have so-so writing but still an interesting story....

But what you ask can not ever be done by mods... it would need about 200k € funding. And that's an optimist estimate. Taking into account not just the massive work required to VOICE all that text, but also because every single script and dialog line would need to be retouched, re-timed and rewritten. Since the game writing is clearly aware it is not voiced, and thus turned out much too verbose...

You kids and your voice overs. Back in my day no video game had voice-overs! Back in my day quality video game entertainment involved bouncing a white pixel between two pixelated lines on a black screen. Back in my day we didn't have the internet! If you got stuck, either you figured it out for yourself or sat huddled in the corner of a dark closet crying to yourself.

Jokes aside, I doubt Larian will do voice overs if they haven't already. Doing voice overs *would* be possible, but you would need a team of talented people who can pull off doing voices well otherwise you'll get something like the FFX laughing scene, with its terrible voice acting haunting you for the rest of your life. You'd also need a few programmers to put the voice clips in game and probably an audio person to remove background distortion and ensure the audio volume is consistent for each clip. Divinity, being a game with so much text as you've pointed out, would require tons of work to do this right. So yeah, this would require a pretty big production team, and lots of time and patience.

Usually the best way to get a project like this rolling is to start it yourself.
