Ok, I just tried the beta and it doesn't look like a real fix, at least not from my current save. The only change I'm seeing is that casting teleport at Boreas is no longer possible. If somebody thought that would be the easiest fix for the whole problem - well, no it's not.
He still keeps running to whoever attacked him in the middle of that attacker's turn, and still ignoring special statuses (e.g. he can do that while stunned by lightning).
So, thanks for all the help, but it looks like I'll have to just keep playing and wait for a real fix to load an older save and experience this fight as it should be...
