When I started fight with King Boreas, I was instantly surprised that every time I attack him from a distance, he suddenly runs up to the attacker, although it's not even his turn to move. Well, that's a weird feature, I thought, but has to be a feature nonetheless... Until this happened:

So, my only question is: what the hell was that and did it happen to anyone else? :)

Just in case, a little textual clarification of the video above:
1) I started the fight.
2) I used teleport spell on Boreas to deal some crushing damage, since he's magic-resistant.
3) After falling, Boreas started "sliding" back to the mage who just cast a spell on him, THEN he took the fall damage and kept taking it over and over again every few moments until he finally died without my having to even end my turn...

Result: supposedly hard battle won in a single action thanks to one of the weirdest glitches I've ever seen. It's 100% reproducible too. Once, I even had one of my nearby party members take damage too, as if Boreas kept falling very close to him.

Yes, the sliding and repeated fall damage are bugs in 1.0.219. He is suppose to move towards a character if attacked out of combat range.

So, this is the latest version as of now, right? No new patches to fix this? Is there a "safe" way to fight him properly without too much artifical limits, or should I just consider that fight "won" and move on? smile

It should be fixed in the Steam beta for the next update. You could also just avoid teleporting him, if you want to beat him without using this bug.

Ok, I just tried the beta and it doesn't look like a real fix, at least not from my current save. The only change I'm seeing is that casting teleport at Boreas is no longer possible. If somebody thought that would be the easiest fix for the whole problem - well, no it's not. smile He still keeps running to whoever attacked him in the middle of that attacker's turn, and still ignoring special statuses (e.g. he can do that while stunned by lightning).

So, thanks for all the help, but it looks like I'll have to just keep playing and wait for a real fix to load an older save and experience this fight as it should be... smile

The running out of turn to whoever attacks him should have been fixed, as well...

But, as I said, it's not. Well, perhaps it will be ok if I start a new game, but I'm not going to replay all the way from the beginning just to check. smile

Anyway, that seems to be the first bug of that size in my 80+ hours of playing, so it could be much worse I guess. This game is just too good to complain, at least until I stumble into something fatal.
