I am now at level 13 (Hiberheim quests all done) and have tons of empty scrolls and books, and I have crafting at 5 (including boni from items). But I cannot use empty scrolls and books, because an ink pot is missing.

I tend to look in every container (boxes, barrels, ...) and also look around at typical places (desks) - no ink pot, not once. Also not one vendor or NPC with whom I tried to trade had an ink pot to offer!

Ink pots seem to be completely missing in this game - why? In another attempt (I restarted) where I never left the Cyseal map and went up to level 9 only I found ink pots in containers and from merchants.

Also missing are moonstones - I did not find one, and no moonstone was ever offered by trading. This is also in contrast to earlier games, where moonstones showed up at level 3 and were relatively frequent.

Is this a bug with the ramdom lists? I do not care much about missing moonstones, but the missing ink pot is nasty. We already delivered the legionnaires will - and even if we would want to do that we could not have followed this plotline - because of a damned ink pot.

Any useful hints?
M.

NB: Could this be because I open containers only with one NPC (the female source hunter) and she has high lucky charm (meanwhile she is at 6, but she started with 0, and had one point at level 3, then we found an item which gave +1, and so on). Could it be, that the random selection lists are wrong and no ink pots spawn? Then why are none in the merchants and NPCs?

There should be an ink pot on Aureus' desk. Arhu may have one, IIRC. Writing desks in various dungeons may have one. They should show up at vendors, as well (Cylia the Enchantress, IIRC).

Hello,

thank you for the hints. Meanwhile I found one - in Cyseals Inn, in Francis room. Since Francis leaves at a certain point, you can take it without stealing.

There are no ink pots in vendors, as I reported. I checked every one, in Cyseal on the market, in Silverglade, and so on. Traded with many NPCs, but no ink pot (and no moonstones). Meanwhile I can write scrolls and books, so the main problem is solved.

I still think there is something fishy here, since fairly simple objects seem to be missing from the game, at least in the random generated lists/loot. Manually placed objects help a bit.

Yeah, ink pots are very rare !

I was hoping I can create (make via crafting!) my own ink pots ... but so far I'v not found a way to make some ... :-(

I've found a bottle with Black "Dye" and some ohter colours ... I was hoping to make with "dye" some ink or colour an item with it, but so far no success ...
