Hi, smile

Divinity Original Sin is engaging and well done!
I especially I love the fights, made using many different spells and abilities, which can also add up to others spells/abilities getting multiple results. Even the "friendly fire" I love it.
I also love the fact (when you are fighting) that when you wait for the next move of the character, the environment remains alive and moving. The characters breathe, the environment is active. (as was in "Temple of Elemental Evil"). In this way you avoid the effect of a still image that I never appreciated in this type of games.

Another wonderful aspect is the multiplicity of objects that can be created with crafting. From a pillow to a book of magic! Fantastic! Well done!

I approve very much also the interaction between the two main characters and the idea of creating games in multipleyer linked to them. Very Well!

Other things I liked a lot:
- The setting of the abilities and characteristics of the heroes. And more generally their management.
- The possibility to "mode" the map by writing my own notes and references.

That said, here are my personal suggestions to improve the game.
I've heard several rumors that comparing Original Sin to Baldur's Gate.
Personally I think there are aspects of Baldur's Gate that if they were caught and placed in Original Sin, the game would gain much. Especially the atmosphere would be more engaging.

Here are the 5 aspects that I implement in Divinity Original Sin:

1. Day and Night.
Enter the day and night, would give the player the dual benefit. On the one hand would feel more the passage of time, creating greater empathy. Across a night of silence and noise of crickets, alternating one day noisier and more people would give a nice variety of light and atmosphere in the game.

2. Change of weather.
In the game there are areas where the weather is constant. Always rain, or always sun etc.
Variability of the weather in the same areas would give greater dynamism to the gameplay experience.

3. Music.
The music of Baldur's Gate was wonderful. But it's beauty was due to the fact that the game does not abused of it. The music is fine. But it need not be constant.
Try to calibrate the music only in certain moments would make its listen a lot more pleasant.

4. Housing.
I'm convinced that management of a housing in Original Sin increasing its depth without going to aggravate the programming.
Interesting would also be the possible opportunity to create a real botanical garden where you can grow the ingredients for the various recipes. Or hives for honey. ^^

5. Smart regeneration of mobs.
In some areas of the game, if some types of mobs re-create themselves (of course in a "smart" way, respecting the plot and the development of quests) would make the game, not only potentially infinite, but most would give the feeling of a living world that regenerates in time.

Thanks for reading what I wrote. smile

1 and 2 were idea planned for stretch goals during the kickstarter, but they proved to be too much work (time and money-wise) to implement.

4. There already is a player fortress in the game. You can't do such things with it, but that wouldn't be a bad idea. It's probably much more work than you think it is, though.

4. Housing :
Homestead I believe is big enough, no ?

Or if you prefer not to float between the stars :hihi: ...
... try the Abandoned House in Cyseal or Evelyn's House later on .... ?

Possibilities enough for "housing",
in my opinion .

OH I agree with repopulation of slain enemies, a non story grind dungeon mode with infinite repopulation and no real story just endless respawned or random encounters would be cool especially once you have finished the game and just want to search and destroy with your awesome characters. I REALLY WOULD LIKE THAT. You get your character all leveled up and cool and then the game ends and he is forgotten, thats sad.

I love D:OS music it is really a good soundtrack, very catchy and never seems to wear on me in most games i turn off the music, I actually like it enough to listen to it without playing the game, if I could just stop playing that is.

Garden in the homestead interesting idea, keeping bees for wax and honey also interesting, maybe a cow a pig and a sheep or ...no wait this is turning into Farmville with swords!
Some merchants should re-stock whenever you go to them, especially the Merchant at the end of time.

Day and night and weather are sort of peripheral, in truth you couldnt use Bows or Crossbows in the rain the strings stretch and lose tension. But using steel-bow stave crossbows in cold weather was dangerous as well the stave could snap, for the complexity of changing weather not sure the pay-off would be big enough.

I love this game.

1, 2 and 3. I'm not really privy about it.

4. Hmmm, I believe that would be more of a distraction to the story. Crafting and Blacksmithing already provides enough of that. Not saying that it's bad but too much micro-managing can get boring and in some cases make you abandon the game.

5. Please don't re-spawn slain monster. Don't turn "Old school RPG" into Hack 'n Slash RPG. There's plenty of the later but not enough quality "Old school RPG".

If there's only 1 improvement I'd like to see... it's allowing players to type the amount of gold when trading. The slider bar gets really time consuming when you got 99,999 pieces of gold and you need to buy/sell an item worth 53 pieces of gold.

There is a balance icon near the top of the trade window, in the middle, which will add or remove enough gold (if available) to balance out the 2 sides of the trade.

WHen I say repopulate the environment, during the game a little would go a long way, but it would help when grinding for experience say on certain maps only or in certain dungeons only, what I actually mean is after the game finale ( Ta-Dah) you can play in non-story mode so you can revisit playing your favorite character, (Like in Torchlight 2 another awesome game but of a different style, you can play again with the same character once you finish and everything scales up), so kind of an eternal dungeon mode with no real story after you complete the primary campaign, Have a few merchants to trade with but make it sudden death hardcore...I think Larian can come up with something to fit the bill and have better ideas about it than I will, they have done a marvelous job so far and they have taken me this far, but an expansion or retirement dungeon mode would be fun, simply hate to say goodbye to a favorite party.

I agree with Trip also in a way too, I would rather it stay as is than becoming more like the drivel that is "new-school" RPG's, although for me the RP is less important than the tactical problems. I can always go back to playing BG/BG2 and IW ( and will surely) but I would like D:OS to join those excellant games on the long-term keeper shelf, the game just feels too short.

I do wish there were more types of monster...anyone else just sick of Giant spiders? I like the Trife, Void Dragon, Braccus Rex, The Death Lord and though I just said I hated them, the Spider Queen probably my favorite monsters in the game.

I wish we could have elves or dwarves as characters...

Have a good weekend all!

I don't like respawning IF this is just for making a game eternal ...

I love RPG's just because of their replayability ! smile

On all things comes an END, so I like it if also a rpg have an ending & the game is not that long so I can fisnish it at least once, twice or more laugh
(I know, I'm a slow player :hihi: ! )

But to be honest : I'm a player who likes "to build up" things, but once it is ready (and it's difficult to upgrade it even more ...) ... I've the very strong wish to start from the very beginning . As a child I had the same with LEGO bricks : once my castle and knights where ready to start a war ... I start to break down the castle and build up something else ...
I've now the same with the "characters", the heroes, in a rpg :hihi: !

So I'm always very confident when lookng to the final game movie or the "credits" ... smile !
