Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Technical Issues Game saves cannot be loaded

Hello. I have a Mac version of the game bought in Steam. I can play the game, save it and load unless I quit to desktop and launch the game again. After that no saves are seen by the game, and it offers to start a new game and create new characters. And again I can save and load until the next relaunch. I can see all the saved files under ~/Documents/Larian Studios/Divinity Original Sin/PlayerProfiles/ProfileName/Savegames, the problem is the game itself just can't see them after relaunch. I tried to switch off steam cloud sync, restart the steam client and reboot the machine, but this did not help. I tried to remove the whole Larian Studios folder from the Documents and start from the very beginning - the problem still persists. I even tried to create different game profiles - still no effect.

Try renaming one of the profile folders, and see if that gets the saves to show up when you next start the game.

Try rebooting your computer, or shutting it down and restarting. A couple people have had this problem on Mac, where that has fixed it.


If that doesn't help, please email supportdos@larian.com, with your system specs and one of your profile folders zipped (containing 1 or 2 saves that don't show up in-game, to keep the file size reasonable).
To get system specs you can use the 'System Report' button from the 'About This Mac' Apple menu item or the 'System Information' app (in the utilities folder).
Folder(s) can be zipped by right clicking and selecting Compress.
