Nope, that is not the fire forest...it is to the north and just west of the Church and graveyard. You will know it when you see it...Rain is a good spell to have at this point. You need to sweep and clear that area and I would do it before you go to church for a come to Jesus Meeting.
NO you cannot get any skill/stat books before you have 5 stones because the hall of secrets does not unlock until you do, so your fine on that point.
Just wait til you loot a stack of needles and find a needle! LOL just kidding.
Books are 10K each so 20K per level, also sometimes the books restock before you level up and then again when you level up. I usually give the stat book to the fighter and the skill book to the mage, mages need skill points more and Fighters need stats and better weapons and armor more.
Its the best game of 2014 or 2015, actually its my favorite game in 5 years.
I am vicariously enjoying helping you out actually most people who like this game seem to enjoy helping others with it since it ratifies our enjoyment of the same things in the same way for the same reasons.
