I have played the demo, not bad. I think it's a long game as well.

I think Gothic is an absolutly fantastic game. Its one of those games that the more time you spend playing it, the more you appreciate it. That said the controls are rather awkward to get used too, once you have a little practice though you will be fine. Dont be in a hurry to rush into combat in this game or you will die, spend some time doing some bloodless quests and gaining some levels and equipment. A low level character wandering the wilderness is dog meat.

Yes, I played gothic, but with a walkthrough so I wouldn't miss anything . It really is a great game, with good graphics (although it's kind of old) and I love the controles, in some way it makes combat more fun.

The only problem is that half the budget games won't run on new machines properly.

But those that do you can run with all the bells and whistles that slowed it down to unplayability when it was first released

Budget Games! I´ve found a site with some REAL classics! And there are for free! So the last 2 weeks I played X-Com2 and Railroad Tycoon and I have to say they´re making a lot more fun then most of the recent games! Next thing I´m going to play is a former favourite of mine - Powermonger. The only problem is WinXP which is installed since a few days. But I´ll make a DOS boot disk.
So here´s the link Free games download
P.S. If you want to try, don´t be afraid of this download tool you have to install. No extra costs just a limitation of downloads per day.
