Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Technical Issues Escape button on keyboard won't open options menu

Has anyone experienced this? Up until today, my escape button was working just fine. It randomly quit working today, so I no longer have the option of accessing the ability to change controls, graphic options, or do a hard save.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

From the main menu, click on Options, then Controls and reset them to Default (or switch the menu hotkey to something else, save and set it back to Esc).

Thank you, I was able to at least change it to a new key for the time being. I attempted to change it back to the Esc key but it was unresponsive, so I think the key itself is messed up!

In Windows hit Ctrl-Esc and see if that brings up the Start menu (should toggle it open and closed).

Nothing happened at first, so I removed the key and made sure things were lined up within the keyboard (there was a silicone insert the key fit into). After doing that, and snapping the key back in, the escape key is working!
