Thanks for the response. With regards to the disappearing equipment: Is it known if saving after the equipment grays out means that there is no way to get it back? Thus far, we have been lucky in that we have always noticed right away and then reloaded to before it happened, but I'm concerned that we are going to not notice for a while, and then save somewhere and be stuck without that equipment. So I am wondering if, say, the equipment disappears (or fades out or whatever) and then we save the game like 10 minutes later, if reloading that save will bring the equipment back or if it will be stuck being gone from there on out?
It was my main system HD that crashed, so I had to reinstall everything on a fresh HD, but I did backup (and restore) my documents folder. I'm pretty sure I have re-updated all my drivers.
With regards to the crashing, I just checked and starting and quitting immediately doesn't cause a crash, nor does starting a single player game and quitting immediately. It may only occur if I've been playing for a while. How do I get the support packages? Do I just delete the folder and then let Steam go ahead and fix it? I do have my anti-virus on "gaming mode" and my firewall is disabled while playing. Thanks for the response!
