Greetings
I am new to the game
Main characters are Wizard and Cleric
Both 3rd level now
However, I really have not added many/any spells or skills

I do not seem to have enough money to buy any good spells or skill books
Both are pretty limited in what they can do

How do I add more spells? more skills?
Need more money but where how to get this?

Explore town and (optionally) loot anything you can steal without getting caught (save first). Sneaking helps when stealing; an invisibility spell is better.

You can buy skill books from various NPCs; there are a couple in the marketplace, one upstairs in the King Crab, a couple in the legion headquarters, etc. You can also find skill books, or craft some with a scroll and appropriate blank spell book.

Gold is so scarce early level that stealing is mandatory.

I don't recall stealing much at all in DivDiv and gold never was an issue.

On the other hand in Original Sin stealing is so easy and inconsequential that I don't even bother with a moral compass for my two protagonists.

The only thing I don't do is killing civilians.

The game economy is wierd. You are poor on the 1-4 levels. You are so-so on 5-8. From 10th level you are rich. From 15 you have more money then you can spend. I have finished the game with 600 000golds in my pocket. There was nothing to buy.

Easy east way how to get rich on the first level is help to solve decision in the hospital on the market square. Get the stone, teleport to the Homestead, take all gold plates and forks from the table then port back and buy what you needed. Items in the homestead are actually yours, so it is not a stealing anyway.

You can really get there on the first level. Just run forward to the city, dont bother initial dungeon, get over the fight with orcs, use healing potions and resurrect scroll. Best let others do the job, you get xp anyway. Then run directly on the market place.

I do not have that great problem with gold.
My two main characters are both some kind of mage, each with 1 ability point in 2 schools of magic, so both characters have 3 skills at the start :
First mage : Fire (Flare) & Water (Minor Heal, Slow Current)
Second mage : Earth (Midnight Oil) & Air (Teleportation, Headvice)

To START with it's very efficient ! Especially Midnight Oil + Flare are so nice to combine !! And with that you've maked your own great campfire laugh to roast/burn the enemies ! Take up the most dangerous enemy and drop him with Teleportation into your camfire doing crushing & fire damage at the same time ! :hihi:
Many kind of enemies are very vunerable to fire damage !

I always now give (as fast as possible and with the help of gear) 1 character Loremaster 5, the other Crafting 5 ! Knowing the weaknesses of enemies helps a lot . Via Crafting it's possible to make your own Skillbooks ! I collect all kind of Scrolls, even buy some interesting Scrolls I wish to make a Skillbook with it (later on) ...
With a little bit luck on your side it's possible to have Loremaster 5 & Crafting 5 for your main character at level 5 (or earlier!)
IF you change the Ability points when starting a "New Game" & start for both abilities with 2 points (you need 3 ability points to do this!) ! wink

Good Luck ! smile
