Remember that PC players are the ones that got you so you could release this amazing game, not console peasants.
I think they've been pretty open about not caring about the people that supported them, so I don't see any reason why they'd have a loyalty to the platform and it's users overall, either.
The intent is to do the console (and PC) version the right way, rather than the easy way.
No-one has ever said that they're taking the easy way over the right way.
There is no right way. It's a formats issue. The limitations of 1 will affect the other and there is no way around it.
