Hi people...
I just completed DD with an fighter-ARCHER... it was a breeze.
just for the record: i relied heavily on the following skills: maxed bow mastery, maxed true shot (not knowing it - allegedly - doesn't work ), elf sight (so I could shoot them from far away), sword mastery (for the few fights i couldn't use my bow), augment defense, and a very high strength and agility. Not to forget poison weapon, and split arrows. And restoration of course. (With poison weapon, the end fight took exactly (I timed it) 15 seconds...) Didn't do any summoning, but occasionally highjacked one of the enemy's summoned beings to do my dirty work for me. Later in the game I maxed the divine spell that lets you add 40% to all your stats and resistances. I completed the game at level 43 with 5 skill points unallocated (I was waiting until i'd need them somewhere).
Now I'd like to play a completely different character, completely magic-focused.

I'd like to hear stories about what spells work, which ones don't, which spells you'd max, if you'd go for summoning or for damage or for boosting, blah blah
Also, has anyone played the game without putting actual points into weapon skills or agility/strength? how did that work out? (I imagine you need at least some points in constitution, if only to be able to run away, but I just started boosting my agility to be able to use a bow... which I actually thought I wouldn't do at all )
Another question: do I go Hell Spikes or (whatever the fire arrow is called) all the way first? Which one is going to give me more 'bang for my skill points'?
Thanks for your input Remember, I'm only a newbie!
