Come on, same could be said about violent video games, and medias / politics are the first to claim it. Well worse even : they claim that VIDEO GAMES are bad to people's mind. They make us socially inept, turn us to satanism, make us violent and will ultimately led us to our doom ( not to mention send us in hell ).
As gamers, we know this is pretty laughable BUT sometimes, someone may snap. However, it's never been proven that the reason why a gamer snapped was indeed video games. The best bet is that video game addiction was already a consequence of a bigger trauma.

As for porn, there are two movies discussing the "addiction" : one is a comedy and tells the story of one guy addicted to his porn collection, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johanson, it's "Don Jon". The other tells the story of a man addicted to sex ( not porn, mind you ), is definitely not a comedy, with Michael Fassbender, and it's "Shame". They may be interesting movies to watch in regards to this sub-topic we've been discussing. Very important distinction to be made here : pornagraphy vs sex addiction. Had all this we've been discussing about sex adiction, I'd have agree. Sex addiction CAN destroy families and lives. It's a far different and worse beast.

There are clear history of abuse in order to make pornographic contents, like Linda Lovelace. However, some women want to get into this industry. Some times ago there was this story of a wall street intern who was bored and decided to do porn instead of her 6-figures promised salary.

I personnaly know a few women watching porn, and it's a good thing. I also am happy that women stepped up in this discussion to defend porn or at least dismiss accusations made against it. There are multiple reasons to why I'd find this a good thing, most of all including the fact they aren't ashamed of the subject anymore, and being able to openly talk about it is quite a liberation in a world that has been marked by centuries of sexual repression, especially for women.
Some couples even use porn nowdays as an "appetizer", or to spice things up, or just to get new ideas. I'd say this is a better couple therapy than having a baby - and I heard profesionnal counselors telling couples that weren't doing so well to try and have a kid, resulting in, obviously, a separated couple with a kid in-between.

Also, have a look at the "Humans of New York" facebook page. Brandon, the photographer and storyteller, is actually in Iran, telling stories about Iranian people. The latest is about a family of three brothers and sisters that had to strive and survive by themselves because the mother was a junkie and the father wasn't around. Since they were children they had to survive by themselves. Let's not pretend pornography can lead to a similar thing.
