Well, I sincerely hope there will have a description like "The mask glows eerily in your hands. You've a feeling using it will have untold consequences, beware."
And its full range of status effects could show up like in a bar or like a wheel of fortune(or disaster?), especially if it is a status effect randomly picked. Or maybe, they could use __sided dice instead, as a homage to maybe... tabletop gaming? I don't do tabletop but I'm aware they use special types of dice.
