hmmmmm what is a battle mage, to me a battle mage is a warrior who use's spell's such as iron skin, mage armour, shield, resists, enhanceing stat's, with a few cleric spells like protection from evil, healing's of all type's.

so in this great game What is a battle mage because i can't figger that one out lol.

Can't really answer in specifics about what a battlemage is: pretty much as you describe, I think, but it's been too long. No doubt Raze will be along shortly with a comprehensive answer!

You're quite right to not take up Willy on his, ahem, outstanding offers. You get to encounter him again much later in Aleroth where things get a little too interesting for him!

I would use battle mage to describe the same general character build as you: anything from a warrior who has a significant investment in offensive spells (just healing I'd consider more of a paladin, or something) to a mage that isn't afraid to pull out a melee weapon and get his hands dirty if opponents get close enough.

With regard to the Way of the Battle Mage skill, though, I would guess the term was chosen because there were two temporary boost spells for magic users, one defensive (Way of the Wise Wizard) and one offensive.
