A less elaborate way to do the same thing would be to use
iZakaroN's SaveEditor to edit the experience points.
For gold, assuming for some strange reason you are running short, you can just drag and drop a stack of anything out of your inventory, and hold the control key down before dropping. A split stack pane will pop up; you can type in a negative number and hit the enter key to end up with a lot more items than you started with.
