Hello PC Master Race!

My brother and myself were super excited this title came to console.

We bought it day 1 (10/27), we even both took half days at work to dig in.

Sadly, we cannot connect to one another (or anyone else for that matter). We tried a variety of ways... inviting in game, in the character creation screen, just setting the game to "Open" and having a player join versus being invited, to no avail.

I even went as far as changing router settings to set my console up as DMZ. Which, hilariously enough, we could never connect to one another in Assassins Creed Unity (pretty sure everyone has heard that that coop experience was plagued with issues) but after making my xbox open via router settings, Unity worked flawlessly.

The above did help numb the pain of not being able to play Divinity (Unity has sat on the shelf for a month, untouched), but we really want to experience this game!

Help please! I feel we tried everything possible on our end, short of making his console DMZ as well (he isn't as tech savvy).

same exact problem for me. me and my friend both set our console as the DMZ, still did nothing, which leads me to believe its something with the game. PLEASE LARIAN HELP US!!!!!!!

I was able to connect to a strangers game last night. Brother wasn't available but I wanted to see if things had changed. I sent them a message and asked how they set up the game - the response was "pressed start, went to connectivity settings and hit open to all".

I have one guess... I am at work, but if someone is bored, try connecting without being in the same party. Cannot imagine it would help, but on xbox360 Dark souls wouldn't let you play together if you were in the same party.

I am grasping for straws here.

I was also able to join a strangers game also but not my friends.

We already tried connecting while not in a party last night and no luck. My buddies game eventually started to show up in the join screen but still not able to join, just load screen and connection failed.

Same here(in Belgium ), with dmz, open nat on both consoles, and many tries, no chance to connect. Even with other people...

Same here! This is utter bs. Got this so my friend could see how great thus game was and we can't even play it because we can't connect to each other. Come on Larian, I expect better from you.

For anyone else having this problem, are both players playing from the disc version of the game? I have the disk version but my buddy did the digital download so I'm wondering if maybe that's the problem?

I dunno, it's really effing frustrating and I haven't heard anything back so I'm just taking a shot in the dark

Me and my brother are both using disc versions of the game. That is not the problem.

Is this all Xbox One? Anyone having problems with PS4?

Sure wish someone affiliated would chime in with a "we are working on this". I don't expect instant results, but I would be really disappointed if this is never resolved and my brother and I dropped $120 on two cup holders.

Same problem with ciccio2a in Belgium. FFS this is an enhanced version, EN-HANCED! All those issues are supposed to be fixed for a long time.
I'm a retailer and clearly I won't talk about the game until It'll work. Don't want to refund because of this and damn we need more coop game.

More ideas:
My brother connects via the xbox one wireless connection where as I am wired. Are other people using the wireless functionality?

It may be due to internet providers? I and my brother both have comcast.

If anyone can connect to a random game, perhaps take the time to ask them about their setup. We know connections are possible, we don't know what makes some (random) connections successful.

I finally got an email back from Raze at the support team but I don't have a solution yet. He just asked if I had tried a bunch of different ways to get it to work, which we all had already done. Waiting for another email back. I dunno, maybe this hopefully means they're at least aware of it now....

I'm connected via RJ45 and my buddy is on wifi, if possible we will try both wired this evening, and I'll keep you guys updated.

We've tried wired, wireless, one wired one wireless, direct connect to modem I mean there's no work around. Are you all on the new dashboard by chance? We have our games digitally.

Has anyone had any luck? I sent Raze the URL for both forum posts regarding this so they know there are a lot of us dealing with this problem, but haven't heard back yet

None. I'm giving it til Tuesday to hear from them that they're fixing it. If I hear nothing I'm getting a refund.

"Larian is looking into this, along with the publisher, but there is not much we can do directly. Microsoft has an API for multiplayer on XBoxOne than handles the network connections."

Not sure what that means, but hopefully it means there will be an answer soon.

It doesn't mean anything. That is an unacceptable answer. Heading on over to the other thread to let him know how unacceptable that answer really is.
