I know they you, Larian, have tried to make the game more ballanced, but what you have done, is IMHO ruining the experience.
Having random loot was one of the things that made the original game great, as it dispensed with the ridiculous notion that loot should be based on level. Now, it's just like another derivative ARPG. "Oh, you're level two! Naturally you can't find the holy grail." Because that makes sense..? In the original game, you could literally find Exacalibur, but had to wield it with a huge penalty, or not even figure out what it was. That was brilliant RPG construction. Now, it's just ridiculous.
I finished the Twin Dungeons, and got four chests full of junk. Real drek. I just barely managed to kill Baron Dietrick and his undead court, and he dropped nothing of value.(????) His chests were filled with complete garbage. Same with the Ghoul Who Guards The Lighthouse. Rubbish all around. I see others complain about the same thing, and as it is, it seriously damages my motivation to keep on playing the game. The first rule of RPGs:
Give the players rewards for completing tasks!
