I'm having a blast with the EE so far, but I feel the rogue plays too much like a fighter. Or rather, he's the better fighter, requiring more micro management but being way more fun. What I'd like to see is a class that focuses on gadgets and traps, like the wind-up toy, the scorpion in Divine Divinity or the technology trees in Arcanum. Needless to say, traps could also have elemental properties. Certain abilities like backstabbing/ stealth abilities could be given to the fighter to make him more interesting in turn (limited to one-handed weapons but including strength based weapons).
