That won't help. You can't see the cursor, but I tried the overhead view which removes the angle and the hitbox for the zombie was clearly a lot smaller than the model.

Targeting is pain, it was in original, I hoped for a solution.

Can we have the animation of a toon on the mouse hover switched off (frozen) ?
That definitely solves jumping targets.
Also a smart feature, when you get a target (e.g. you are targeting at someone) then an only then let your mouse snap in for 10pixels. That will help pointing at those who has small hitbox.

I'm playing with mouse and keyboard, and I'm putting my mouse over the half-eaten zombie, but the thing apparently has an incredibly tiny hitbox. You can see clearly several times in the video where my cursor is on top of the zombie's model, but it isn't being targeted. Even switching to the overhead view doesn't help much.

Now okay, I've only really had problems with these zombie types, but if this kind of issue with the hitboxes not matching the models is more widespread than just that, no wonder people are having trouble targeting things.

This should probably be looked at.

Oh, and also Blitzbolt also seems to shoot from the knees and not the chest making targeting annoying.

EDIT: Argh, Fraps didn't capture the cursor. I'll have to re-record unless people are willing to take my word for it
.

I wish you had tested this a little more thoroughly before coming to the conclusion that the problem is the hitbox for all half-eaten zombies, because you're actually missing the real bug.

I know the fight Stabbey is referring to and the problem is not with the hitbox of the half-eaten zombies (which is exactly the same size as the zombies themselves). The problem is with one specific half-eaten zombie in that particular encounter - to be exact it's the zombie that rests at the foot of the bridge and is the first to see you when you come out of the Cyseal north-east gate.

You can see in the following video how I'm easily targeting a different half-eaten zombie in this encounter. But then I try to target the problematic half-eaten zombie (timestamp 00:08 - 00:11) I referred to above (which is the one Stabbey is also using in his video as an example for all half-eaten zombies). Despite my cursor being directly over it, the game is having issues with targeting. Then you can see me targeting the rest of the zombies with ease before returning to the problematic zombie again.

I've noticed that while moving across the bridge this particular zombie's model tends to sink into the ground (bridge) at times (screen shot below). I'm not sure if that has anything to do with what's causing the issue, but for some reason it is always this particular zombie (and none of the others).

Hopefully this helps the developers narrow down the real problem with this particular encounter. I have approached that problematic zombie from different directions and not had this problem, so I suspect the bridge is at least part of the issue.

Edit: I want to show another video of this same problematic zombie. He's the one immobilized on his back (thus showing the problem isn't the animation, since he's immobile) and is still just a nightmare to target, where as the others are targeted very easily. It's worth mentioning that the "problem zombie" is not always difficult to target - sometimes he's very easy to target, it just depends where he is on the bridge. Although, I have yet to have issues targeting other half-eaten zombies on that bridge, including the ones that seem to sink partway into mesh while crossing it.
