Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice here about Tactician mode and I'm hoping you could help me out. Anyway...

My friend and I played a coop game of DOS way back around release. Initially, the fights were really challenging and we had a great time.

But about maybe halfway through act II, we just started dominating. Our CC was ridiculous, the shield spells made us too beefy, and it got to the point where the monsters hardly ever even got a change to move. At this point, we just got bored and stopped playing.

Now that the EE is out though, I'm planning to start anew with my friend and I was hoping that tactician mode would offer some more challenge.

So for those who have played tactician mode for a while...what are you feelings on it at the later stages of the game? Does combat still become trivial later on?

And if so, is there some way that we can mitigate this effect? For example taking a game changing talent like Lone Wolf, would this make the game more consistently difficult?

Basically, I'd like to be free to min-max our characters once we start the game, but I would be okay with taking some initial things at character creation that may make the game more difficult.

Anyway, let me know what you think, and thanks for your time!

Farther you go, more easy it is. That was not solved. For Tactician mode is even more obvious because of more enemies and more XP. Final battle is a joke again.

Take the Lone Wolf will get more difficulty especialy now when glass canon is not allowed with LW. However, I would not say that difficuly will be consistent.

More difficulty you can get by take all the useless talents. Check here : http://larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=574464#Post574464
Which makes your tune crippled. Also avoid usage of wands, dual-wield or spells generally.

You would make a party of two melee lone wolfs with all those shitty talents and keep intelligence at 5. That is something.

Thanks for the response! And yeah, I don't want to play with chars that are intentionally gimped throughout the game. Part of the fun for me is that sense of progression and getting more powerful.

Anyway, hopefully the double lone wolf idea will make the game more challenging at the midpoint on.

Thanks!
