Ok, i can see how that is misleading.. Let me elaborate.. When isaid stacked, i actually meant in the crafting menu..

For example, when my blacksmith crafted 5 swords for us to vendor (we needed money, and a blacksmith would sell his wares), i immediately took them from the anvil, to the grindstone.. When crafting the 5 same swords, it allowed me to make a "stack of them.. Meaning i didnt have to click "craft" 5 separate times.. Likewise, because 5 of the same sword wanted to be sharpened, it allowed me to use the slider to sharpen 1-5 swords at once.. Choosing all 5 on the slider,i clicked craft, and the action completed.. Presumably, all 5 would be sharpened.. This is where the problem was.. Only 1 of those 5 actually sharpened..

I again tried to sharpen the full amount of swords.. This time, 4 werent sharpened, but i think it still allowed me to slider to 5.. Again i checked my inventory, and the next one in line in the inventory had actually received the upgrade..

I then decided to do 1 at a time, and the pattern continued..It sharpened them in the order they were aligned in the inventory, from left to right, top to bottom..

I only report it as a problem, because the UI allows for, and indicates ALL the items will be upgraded, and then the player would likely go right to a vendor (in this case) to sell his/her wares.. That person would then probably not even realize, tyhey are recieving far less gold than anticipated.. I know i always upgrade, and repair all bladed weapons, heavy/mail armor before vendoring them, as a Blacksmith is there to create weapons/armor for the team, and to sell to customers to make his living.

I hope this was a little more clear in explanation, as i now see how vague my original post was. Stacking was not the pile itself in the inventory, but of how many could be done at one time in the crafting menu.
