Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Enhanced Edition keeps stop accepting input.: ARRGGG

As of today Nov 19 the game keeps freezing. Specifically it stops accepting input from the keyboard (mouse works fine) so that if I get into a place where i have to enter a response the only fix is to log off (machine does not freeze but since I can't exit the game via alt-f4 (a dialog comes up that requires i enter yes or no to exit) i have to log off.

This only started happening today and i have about 50 hours into the current game. It does not happen when I first start but usually after 10 or 15 minutes of playing: very very very annoying.

when this happens I can still move the mouse fine and windows is accepting input since i can alt-del or alt-f4 but the GAME is no longer accepting input.

I think I know what is happening; though it is incredibly annoying. It seems that some condition causes an 'invisible' window to pop up which is taking all the input. The part that is super duper painful is that you can't see this window to remove it; and the program catches alt-del and alt-f4 but then this window auto-raises so you can't exit the game other than to log out (using alt-del).

I found one of the invisible windows by hitting the chat button in the lower left corner; but I have no clue why it was popping up - there was no message (I was playing single player with the steam version) - but when i hit that button and then close the visible chat window the game became play-able again. Whatever is happening it is annoying as hell. It doesnt' seem to happen often - it happened once when I first started and now again 2 weeks later - funky little game.
