The only anti-virus and firewall software running are the ones built into Windows 10 itself. I killed a few random things I had running in the background like my clipboard manager, little things I didn't expect to make a change and no surprise they didn't. I also made sure that both Windows Update and my GeForce drivers are fully up-to-date (I had Windows Update set to defer upgrades but went ahead and updated to the "Threshold 2" release from last month that I'd been holding back on, didn't fix it).
I ran the verify install option in GOG Galaxy, disabled my second monitor and dropped the resolution on my primary down to 720p, dropped in the contents of your zip file replacing the one that was there and adding in that whole subdirectory, all the while between each of these changes trying to load the game and then killing the process in task manager when no window appeared. No luck
I keep a fairly lean machine with not much installed and most of my data kept on secondary drives, so reformatting the SSD and slapping on a clean install of Windows isn't as outlandish a suggestion as it would be for most people. This isn't the first time I've run into issues trying to run a game in Windows 10 (although other games have run flawlessly), so if push comes to shove I could try dropping Windows 7 back onto this machine. If no other solution presents itself then I think I might know what I'm doing next Saturday. Thanks for the suggestions.
