I started this thread and eventually gave up and played other things. My buddy I originally tried to play with just asked me if I had heard anything about this being fixed. So I decided to log back on cause I figured surely by now, almost 2 months later, there'd be a resolution.....

At this point Larian needs to provide a return option, as for many, once a game is opened or once it's been more than 30 days there is no option to return it to a retail store. It would be one thing if there truly seemed to be any active regret from Larian, or that this seemed like it was of utmost importance, but the way this has been handled is inexcusable and unprofessional. DO NOT sell a game that is broken, but definitely don't plan your entire marketing campaign around that broken feature

Yea this is uncalled for. And it's a shame because now any future release from them will DEFINITELY NOT be purchased by me, or others for that matter.

Focus has the patch now AFAIK, so however long the release process takes is when it will be released.

I don't have Divinity yet (I got on this forum just to investigate how the co-op works before buying it), but I might be able to offer a little troubleshooting advice based on some prior experience.

The symptoms that are being described here are exactly what was happening to my son and I with Disney Infinity 2.0 and 3.0. Both of us had open NATs and we've had no problems connecting with each other or anyone else with any other game, yet we couldn't connect in Infinity. We tried port forwarding, putting either Xbox One in the DMZ, alternating who hosted and how/when we would send an invite, and we even bought a block of static IP addresses from our ISP (U-Verse). Nothing worked. Sounding familiar?

It turned out that the problem was with our U-Verse modem/router (Motorola/Arris NVG589). I believe Comcast uses this same unit for a number of customers. We tested this by using our neighbor's wi-fi signal on his router (this allowed us to connect in multiplayer). We also used our iPhones to set up mobile hotspots and connected wirelessly using those. Granted, neither of those are long term solutions, but it is a way that you can test to see if the problem is specific to your modem / router / residential gateway.

Signed up to say this is pretty ridiculous. Friend and I attempted to play in the first week of release to no avail. We put it on hold until today, nothing has been fixed after 2 months? I'm an original kickstarter and have shelled out more money to play COOP with my buddy on X1. I promised him this was a great game and that they could trust in Larian.

We've tried every single fix that we could come up with over the past ~4 hours to see if we could bring some news to the rest of the people here having problems. We've gone so far as to dig up modems and routers we haven't used in years. Bridging, port forwarding, triggering, IPv6, IPv4, NAT, wired, wireless, and every combination under the sun. The only thing we couldn't test is swapping our ISP. I'm on Verizon FiOS and he's on Comcast. That can't possibly be the problem as we have no problems connecting with each other over PS4/PC/X1 (elsewhere).

It also doesn't reassure me to see that this patch may only "possibly" fix the problem. If it doesn't, what should we do from that point? Throw our copies into the dumpster?

There are fixes in the upcoming patch for what the programmers believe to be the issue. With the very limited reproducibility, though, it isn't possible to guarantee that the fixes will cover every case. There are more detailed error messages in the patch, which will help narrow down the issue if the patch doesn't help some people, and there are other contingency plans.

I have the same problem.

I'm very disappointed, I bought this game yesterday to play in coop with a friend (for my christmas's holiday...). But each time I try, I have this (very simple) error : "Erreur de connection".

I'm from Belgium and my internet provider is "Voo" (my friend has Belgacom as provider) and my NAT is OPEN (my friend too).

I saw on the thread that the game used "Direct IP", I never had to use that, but I can do a translation NAT on some PORT on my router. If you think that a possible solution, could you tell me what port(s) (UDP) is/are used by the game?

In any case, I hope the patch (or the translation NAT) can resolve this big issue ...

There was a serious bug discovered recently with the latest patch on PC, which could cause performance issues late in the game (running animations for non-lead characters, slow UI response, spell effects delayed or missing [though the casting animation was fine and the cooldown started], etc). This could be triggered, or made worse, when switching map regions, and would eventually start causing a crash on those loading screens.
This was fixed yesterday, and is going through testing today.

Unfortunately, since the console patches are also affected by this issue, the fix for it needs to be integrated into the patch, which will then need to be resubmitted to Microsoft and Sony. That will likely push the release into the new year.

We are sorry for the additional delay. The patch will hopefully be resubmitted soon.

My friend and I just started having this problem tonight. We just picked up the game two days ago. We've been able to connect and play together just fine until a few hours ago. Not sure why it would suddenly stop working. This is such a great game, and a fantastic co op experience. Hopefully this gets straightened out soon.

I can confirm it doesn't work at all in coop on XBOX ONE. My friend and I aren't able to join or host any session.
The game was bought a few days ago, and for me, it was downloaded through the XBOX LIVE.
Countries : France & Belgium.
It's the first time we encounter such problem with a coop game. We hope you'll suceed with fixing that issue.

Did some research and it seems like it's not even worth troubleshooting this problem as every one experiencing this have not found a solution.

Is anyone aware of a timeline that Larian may have given on a fix for this problem?

I kickstarted this on PC and a friend + I really enjoyed playing through it cooperatively. Now, I'm trying to play it in co-op on two xboxes in the same house with my girlfriend and nothing appears to be working whatsoever.

I would've loved to get into it today, but I'm happy to delay my adventure if I know a fix is in the works.

The patch with possible fixes for this is done (along with more detailed error messages, in case that doesn't help everyone with this problem).
There was a bug fixed with the latest PC version last week, which also effected the console patches, so the fix for that needs to be integrated into the patch and then the patch re-submitted to Microsoft and Sony. If that hasn't been done already, it should be early next week, if no problems come up.
I don't have an ETA on the release process yet, though.

The patch is currently going through the submission process with Microsoft.
