Crashes a lot and often. About once an hour. No rhyme or reason, where I am or what I am doing, it just crashes. If I am playing in full screen it takes the whole computer with it when crashing. Game just crashes with "Kernel Panic" and I get this message: “You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again.” After getting this twice in one day I changed to playing in windowed mode. Now the game just crashes.
I am playing with an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012). 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB
Regarding the forum post about the shadows “Random game lock-ups on Macs with old Nvidia cards”. In my experience and testing it there is no difference if shadows are on or off. I have tried multiple different graphics options with no difference. I played the original (non enhanced edition) with the same computer for like a hundred hours and this was not a problem. Few crashes here and there but nothing like this.
