Hi, I have two ps4 at home to play with my girlfriend.
Last week we started a multiplayer session and she could join and play. After one hour we have been playing together, I saved and both closed the game.
Today I loaded the saved game, but the "invite player" is gray, if I go into the connection menu, the only option I have is "closed", so no option to have the possibility to let other players join me.
After many failed attempts, we started a new game. As soon as we started playing, I tried to quit and load, and I worked: I could invite her.
Then, after the usual hour of gameplay, I closed and tried to reload and nothing worked.
We both have NAT2, I can host many games.
What can I do? I bought it to play multiplayer with two different displays and if I cannot resume it, it's really useless.
Regards.

In the Connectivity menu, is there nothing else to select, or nothing to toggle it between open and closed?
Did you double check the multiplayer settings in the options? I'm not sure how it is done for the PS4 version, but on PC it is in the Game section of the options.

Did you try hosting with the other PS4? You can start a new game for that, or transfer a save from the first one using a flash drive, and see if that makes a difference.
In the Saved Data in System Storage section of the Settings menu, click Copy to USB Storage Device, select the relevant save(s) and Copy, then copy it back on the other PS4.

Hi, thanks for replying.
I confirm that in the connectivity menu there's nothing to select: everything is gray apart from "closed", and if I select it I cannot modify it.
I checked many times the options, but I fear that the PS4 menu is different from pc because there are not any settings for multiplayer connections.

Today I will try to export my savegame to the other PS4 and verify if the other one can host the saved game.

It is normal that the game starts with Closed status, but (as long as the PS4 is online) you should be able to change the status in the connection menu.

Try starting a new game to join, and then load the most recent save from your last session.

You can also try to use the PS4 interface to send an invite rather than the in game interface. I am currently playing co-op with my brother and this is how we connect.

Hi, thanks for your answers. Today I tried:

1) To move save data from my account to my girlfriend's: it didn't work, because it her PS4 does not see the save game data.

2) To use the PS4 interface to invite her, instead of the game's one: it didn't work, but I think that it's a problem of mine, because I really don't know how to invite her to my session passing through the PS4 interface. Any hints?

3) I created a new game, created two default characters, invited her, skipped the intro and then loaded the game: IT WORKED. The only problems is that it is a very long procedure. Btw, at least it works. Better than nothing.

Thanks to all for your support. Regards.

You would have to log in to your girlfriend's PS4 to try your save there, as game saves on the PS4 are locked to the account they are created with.
