Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Enhanced Edition Can't Move Beyond Current Screen

I purchased the game over a month ago and started out fine but at one point in the very early game it suddenly would not let my characters transverse beyond my current screen. So I set it aside for awhile.

Yesterday I updated to the latest patch and today started from where I left off but was experiencing the same issue I had before. So I went back to the Main Menu, reloaded, and all was fine again.

Then i found the body of the guy who thought he could fly, had a brief dialogue with my partner, picked up the rain scroll and now I can't move out of this screen. I can't even return from where I came.

My system meets the recommended specs. Is this a bug or is me as player failing to do something? Thanks.
