Okay I've got a nerdy question - so beware!

I'm kind of wondering if undead can consume food or drink. I mean technically shouldn't it go straight through them?
I hope that food/drink is not able to be consumed because really what effects would that have on a bag of bones anyways?
(You would probably be dependent on necromancy to restore your health and watch out for existential dilemmas least you fall apart!)
It would be pretty cool if you could replace your arms and legs with the bones of different animals to take on some of their powers and become a true terror. Want to run like a wolf? Find a wolf skeleton and place your head in place of the wolfs. Want to fly? Find the skeleton of a large winged bird and add your head. Only problem is you would have to store your body somewhere safe least you get stuck that way.
