My brother and I can't play this game. I have a Mac and he has a Windows machine. He downloaded the latest patch (1.0.132) and there isn't one for Mac yet. We are not able to connect and play. We keep getting the error message: "Connection failed server has wrong version." Anyone else getting this? Anyone know when the Mac patch will come out? We just bought this game yesterday and can't even play it!

The Mac patch for GOG should probably be available Monday, I would guess; the 1.0.130 patch is available, it is just the 1.0.32 hotfix that needs to be added.

Hello guys,
i have the same issue.

My version is Steam's v2.0.119.430, Linux x86_64
My girlfriend's version is GOG v2.0.119.430, Windows 7 x86_64

Even after verifying game cache, reinstalling game to another disks and after both machines rebooting we still facing the error "server has wrong version".

We tried the direct connect function by server ID.

Could you please advice what do we need to do to finally play it.
Thanks in advance :)

Do both games list the version as 2.0.119.430 in the main menu (below the column of buttons in the keyboard UI, top right in the controller UI)?

The initial update to add Galaxy support to the GOG version had a compatibility issue playing co-op with either Steam or the pre-Galaxy GOG version, so your girlfriend should be using the 'GALAXY FIX' or the more recent 'LAN HOTFIX' (for the Czech localization), or the version before the Galaxy update. By default it should have updated if she is using the Galaxy client, but if she downloaded the full installer the weekend the initial Galaxy update was released, it may not be up to date (there is a patch).

If your girlfriend is using the Galaxy client, she can try reverting to the pre-Galaxy support update (select the game in the left column, click More and select settings, switch the update to manual, then select 2.0.119.430 rather than 2.0.119.430(LANG HOTFIX) ).

Try the Direct Connection using an IP address, or LAN if possible (if the computers are not on the same local network, you'd have to use VPN software like Hamachi or Freelan).

Only mine.
My GF has only "v" there.
I think thats the root of issue.

She is using fresh and up-to-date Galaxy client. We also tried standalone-installation by downloading game directly from site. The same issue.

Done. Changed 2.0.119.430(LANG HOTFIX) to 2.0.119.430 and rebooted. But issue still existed. And version number is still "v" in the main menu.

Thanks, will try it then. But i think at first we need to fix version number somehow.

Yes, the version number is the issue.
A handful of people ran into that with D:OS; most fixed it by reinstalling the game to a different location/drive; a couple with both the Steam and GOG versions (Kickstarter backers) simply switched to the opposite version.

Try a clean reinstall of the GOG version, to a different location (a different drive, if available).

Hi Raze!

Thanks a lot for your help. Reinstallation did not help but we finally did it!
We used Steam's family sharing feature to install my game to my GFs computer and i've installed the GOG version to my machine.
It works this way.
