I just thought I'd point out that Larian seems to be taking this strategy in D:OS2 so far. From what I've seen of the dialogue at this point, it's very short and snappy with lots of narration to show what characters are doing.

I would really like them to push more into visual animation (and maybe they're already planning this later in development), but this is a decent improvement.
