I guess I can't really object to armour changing shape to accommodate race any more than it changes size to accommodate different builds: it seems to be a standard RPG thing that the same armour that fits a muscular 6'4" barbarian will also fit a slight 5'2" rogue. I remembered once suggesting elsewhere that looted armour should really be taken to an armourer or a tailor to be adjusted and de-flead before it could be used but people didn't seem keen on that idea; I guess it appealed to me as I like things like mandatory eating and sleeping but apparently most people don't.
About the only example I remember of armour specifically not fitting was Morrowind's Argonians (or was it Khajiit?) complaining about not being able to find boots that would fit, but by the time of Oblivion they had the regular omnisized human feet that could wear any old boots that were available.
I like this idea
