Good day folk.
My laptop has a dedicated GPU, Nvidia 750m. At lauch D:OS ran with difficulty, but it been optimized and lately with the EE with better DirectX it played even better.
Now, what can I expect for D:OS2. Is it the same engine of the EE, so I will play with decent graphic, or are we elsewhere and I'm out of luck to play this.
Thanks for the insight!

750m is a bit weak, but yeah I'd bet it will run. It is mostly the same engine but there's more visually going on as you can see from the preview videos.

Its going to be really close, but it should work at absolut minimum, if the other parts are decent enough. The minimum requirements i have found are: (Source: Steam)
MINIMUM: Betriebssystem: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit or Windows 8.1 64-bit or Windows 10 64-bit Prozessor: Intel Core i5 or equivalent Arbeitsspeicher: 4 GB RAM Grafik: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 550 or ATI™ Radeon™ HD 6XXX or higher DirectX: Version 11 Speicherplatz: 25 GB verfügbarer Speicherplatz
[Insert something funny here]

I'd also say that D:OS EE ran on machines below minimum spec pretty easily at playable framerates with everything on low.

I was able to play quite smoothly on D:OS EE with a mix of medium and high.
But for the rest I have an i7 with 8GB ram.
It's the kind of game I like on PC, if I can't play it I still have my XO/PS4.
I really hope they can optimize the game so it's playable on my laptop, just like they did from D:OS to D:OS EE

Hmm, is mine still strong enough?
Edition: Windows 10
Prozessor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
RAM: 8GB
System: 64-Bit
Grafik: Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000 with DirectX11
I could play Divinity: EE on the highest setting without problems, but now I am a bit worried.

I hope you can, but your Intel HD 3000 is quite low, my laptop as a 4600, but it can not be used to run game.

The Intel HD 3000 only has hardware support for DirectX 10.1. Full DirectX 11 starts with the HD 4000 (which can run D:OS EE, but performance is about a quarter the minimum requirement listed for D:OS 2). Most likely your laptop has dual graphics (a dxdiag report often only lists the integrated graphics in that case.) One way to check which other GPU you have is to click Start (or WinKey-R), type in dxdiag and hit Enter, then in the window that opens, switch to the Display tab (should be one for the integrated GPU and one for the discrete). Since it runs the EE, you would just have to check performance against the minimum requirement (Geforce GTX 550 or Radeon 6xxx), using an online search or a benchmark such as PassMark, or Tom's Hardware has rankings of GPUs.

I can run EE at High, and get a solid 25 frames (to me, this is totally playable) without too much of a problem in the most intense parts of the game. Here are my specs:
Edition: Windows 10 (Formerly 8)
Processor: Intel Core i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.40 GHz (That's the exact wording used)
RAM: 8 GB (2 GB dedicated to Graphics)
System: 64-Bit
Graphics Card: Nvidia GT 740m
Will it be able to run it? Just a thought...

I have just like you, except my GPU is a 750m. Maybe we will be able to play this game at medium.

The CPU and RAM are fine, but the 740M has a PassMark benchmarks at 40% the performance of the GTX 550... Maybe at a lower resolution and graphics settings it might be playable? The 750M is better, at 2/3 the benchmark of the minimum listed GPU.

2/3 of the minimum listed GPU....
That would mean it can't run smoothly even at low...
It seems D:OS2 is a big step from D:OS EE in term of hardware.

I'd be careful with that kind of conclusion. It's certainly possible that's the case but not necessarily. For example the D:OS Classic requirements were "HD Intel Graphics 4000 or NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800 GT (512 MB)" Among their own "minimum" there's 50% difference between the HD 4000 and the 8800 gt. Minimum requirements are much more an estimate than hard science outside of things like "You must have pixel shader x support" or "Open GL 4.0+ required"

I understand. What I meant, is that I don't think I'll be able to try it before I buy, because I do want to buy it. But I might have to play on PS4/XO rather than my laptop.
With D:OS I was close but at first it did not run well on my machine. The EE run MUCH better. I was hoping for a similar experience.

Aye, that makes sense. The EE ran better because it was DX11 and most native DX11 cards handle it better than the older API.

The EE also switched to 64 bit, and there were several engine improvements and optimizations made.
D:OS 2 will be getting some optimizations, as well, further into development.

I just hope that the closer to release required specs will be updated so it will be playable on my laptop.
