That is true. But there is an overwhelming support there - and on the old Bioware forums, in which I participated - for a more cinematic experience.
Oh so the fans of a company who basically pushed it from producing classics (Baldur's Gate) to producing soft-porn RPG's want it, we obviously should add it.
I don't think ANYONE should follow BioWare's footstepts. It's one of self-destruction. They want to please their fans... but their fans are ANYTHING but RPG fans. Hence BioWare game are horrid RPG's now, since they are sex-simulator first and... something else... next. Just how their fans like it. And I want to steer away from since they're just not fun to play anymore. If I want their type of game I rather boot up an anime VN instead. Maybe BioWare should focus on those instead.
Also I really hate killcams, so very annoying in Dragon Age 1 and The Witcher II. Pointless and annoying after the 3rd time. Seeing how long both games where and how it would pretty much trigger after each and every combat... oh joy... NOT.
If anything get rid of 3rd person over the shoulder cams. They're absolutely unfit for team-oriented RPG's (Imagine playing a RTS like that, infact I tried, Sacrifice, it wasn't fun). And if anything we've learned of modern action RPG's with 3rd person view is that just having a single character and 2 bots that are pretty much fodder makes for very shallow gameplay.
