For the record I absolutely enjoy the crap out of DoS Vanilla and EE. DOS2 shows promise but one continuing trend is purposefully pigeon holing frustration for no reason whatsoever.

Its a sandbox start you do whatever you want in whatever direction you want you can approach the story in multiple directions except for the fact that you purposefully put pigeon holed one sided fights in every direction that is not the one you want the player to go in.

Without having to spoil things the cannibal is a fight you cannot win, the frogs is a fight you cannot win, and the alligators is a fight you cannot win. All 3 of those without complete cheese and luck will wipe the floor with you most likely before you even get to act.

The choice is an illusion because your only recourse is to fish every NPC for recruitable ones to get a full party and then do the roleplay only steps. Doesnt break the game I just mark that direction in my head as a no go and continue to search for the one way you want the game to be progressed. I havent been playing long ill figure out some combination of quests that will make me powerful enough but it should not be this densely packed railroading.

*edit add the arena to the list one npc auto attacks for a tanks full health in one round all lvl 3..
