Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Bugs & Technical Problems [Bug] Withermoore's soul jar quest

This quest doesn't close properly if prior to taking this quest his soul was already taken as a Source point. If you go and destroy the jar later, quest log says that Withermoore is free and he lies dead but the quest doesn't close.

I didn't take his soul as a source point, and it still isn't marked as completed for me.

I got XP for finishing the quest, but it isn't marked as complete for me either.

Well, I guess it's just bugged.

Yea I actually didn't use the soul point and same bug happened. Just freed the poor bastard.

Same for me. Just completed and freed his soul + got a ton of reward XP but it is still on the list.

Similar to above. I freed his soul (by breaking jar) and quest not complete. And not out of order shenanigans either as I already had met Withermore and accepted the quest. Even went back to Withermore in the cave to find his body on the ground and the kid crying. It made me feel bad.

Has anyone tried putting his soul jar in the inventory and taking it back to him in the hideaway to see if that resolves it differently / marks it complete?

i tried it and it is still bugged ..

The journal is not finished. It is an alpha after all.
