A minor suggestion that might be too much work.
But perhaps you should have some sort of reputation in the prison that might persuade the prisoners not to pick fights with you especially after you slaughter them left and right in full public view.
It wouldn't be a huge deal in most cases except EVERYONE thinks they can take you on (you can end up with quite the impressive self-defense body count). It would just be neat if you can basically intimidate them into non-action.
