Step1: Rain spell over the historian
Step2: Bless the historian, the water on the floor underneath him should now grow small flowers.(Bless spell received from first contact with old divinity/god char)
Step3: Rain of Blood spell over the historian(apparently breaks the curse)
You only need Bless and Rain of Blood, not sure about the order.
