Sorry wtrboy, but all other Larian games I have played (DD, D2, D:OS1) were like this and I liked it.
You fight a cult of lunatics and some places were full of bodies and blood, especially the most "holy" places of the cult. In D:OS1 for example, look behind the waterfall in sacred stone or the cathedral north of this town where they sacrifice several people.
Larian games are a mix of a huge interactive environments where at least some parts are very bloody on one side and insane humor on the other side (examples from D2: you can convince a skelleton that talking skelletons cannot exist and it falls apart, the guy who is soul bound with a chicken, attack of the power rangers, people being turned into vegetables, . . .)
I liked all Larian games I have played, I think that after playing the alpha that D:OS2 can be better than the already very good D:OS1 and I think it should stay like this.
OK, so far I did not have an insanely funny moment in D:OS2. Several people, including party members, are lunatics, but that is not funny by itself. Especially D2 had several moments where my reaction was a facepalm and questioning the programmers sanity, but those are the moments I will remember my whole life (for good or bad).
