Completed act 1 by murdering every single soul, so i still have source collar. Will there be a way to remove it further or is there already a way in act 1 to remove it without need to leave someone alive? It could be awesome because there are several places in act 1, that can only be acessed by using source magic.
P.S. resurrecting and forcing NPC's to do something could be a good idea.

I'm with ya, man. I even murdered some of the companions. Just beat it, still have my source collar. There'll probably be a way to get it off in act II, because I know I'm not alone amongst my friends; I have two that can't figure out how to get their collars off, and one who (strangely enough) doesn't want his collar off at all. He wants to beat the game with it on. I hope there's something for all of us in the final game.

If you're just going to kill everyone, I think you should be forced to wear the collar for the rest of the game.

*chin scratch* Should certainly be harder to remove, but if they're gonna make it so you keep it they'd have to have dialog and stuff where NPCs react to the fact that you're wearing it still I think <- Probably easier to just have an alternative side quest where one removes it themselves. A really hard side quest thats mandatory given that you placed yourself there, even.

Nothin' wrong with a little genocide and mayhem, but consequences should be enacted story wise in some manner, hopefully

This sounds so awesome. I'd love to go through the whole game with it on, now that I really think about it, since it's a symbol of what they've put the prisoners through.

Yes you can be evil, but that will come with a cost. If you think that by murdering everyone you will have a good time, you are wrong. First of all this kind of games are all about the story and not really the combat, yes combat is fun and all, I know. Anyway no, if you kill everyone you should just die with it.

You can murder everyone and still have a good time. You just need to make sure you know what each NPC can do for you so you know you are "done" with them when you bury a sword in their heart and watch the life drain from their eyes.
I cant wait for the full game so you can properly kill peoples souls after you kill their body. smile

The method of escaping the island seems to be on a Magisters ship. It's reasonable enough to assume that the ship would have tools for putting on and taking off collars.

Therefore, all characters will probably start out the next part with their collars gone even if they still had them. That will both reduce headaches for the writers and it is logical.

Agreed. Playing a frenzying murder hobo is certainly how I get the most enjoyment out of the game. There's no bigger rush then running up to a group of people twice your size, smack talking them into fighting you, and then beating them into submission and saving the leader for last. Killing people's souls will be the icing on the cake; I can't wait until I get to kill a boss's family, then use their souls to fight him/her.

I think this is a play style that should be addressed with something akin to the Bovine Defence Force Initiative.

You're making my mouth water.

I would love for some big bad to wander in, and try to stop me. Imagine how epic the fight would get! I'm imagining the first time I tried to kill Zixzax in DOS 1. It was an epic fight, and it took me like ten full minutes just to beat him. Too bad there's no implications for doing so; he just resets. But the thrill was unreal! Actually doing battle with someone powerful enough to put up a fight was exhilarating. I'd love it if Ye Olde SWAT was called in to go ham on me; I'd love the chance to fight through them, maybe get some sweet loot, maybe a smidgen of XP. Or even not. Just the achievement would be oh so sweet.

I can see it now; standing over the corpse of Griff, knife in hand, covered in his blood, when the Magister Armaments Division (MAD) drops in with teleports, yelling at me to cease and desist. I cloak and dagger, rage, sneak, vault, yada yada until they're all on the floor, and I take a severed head and scream at the heavens in a rage-induced challenge... And the boss drops in. laugh That sounds so epic, I want it to happen now.

On that note I love how Larian has actually put some effort towards rewarding even us deplorable murdering hobos.
Icaras staff was a really good item in DOS1, and the only way (that I found) to get loremaster from a weapon.
I used it all the way through the game even when I found slightly better drops just because I liked the staff so much. smile
