The challenge is to complete act 1 with only one character in your party throughout (meaning at no point do you have more than one character in your party, ever) in Classic mode.
The only other restrictions are that you can't Flee, and you can't block enemy paths with objects such as barrels and crates.
For extra points, take the Zombie talent at start. It makes things... interesting.
