So as far as I can tell, the current state of the fire elemental summon is a placeholder. It takes 3 memory slots to have a spell that conjures up this molten looking orb that can move and see, but has nothing in its skillbar, no attack animations, and does not deal damage when it attacks. When I tried commanding it to attack, it used up action points like it should, but nothing else happened (assuming it was in range, as it would move into melee range first).

Yeah, this appears to the be the case. Description says it should be able to do damage, but it cannot.
It's just a very poor tank atm. This still makes it the best summon we have though, ha!

Yeah they shurely just didn't implement it's animations.

I definately like the new look, not this annoying comic stuff especially air and ice elementals had in DOS1. Reminds me of the fire elementals in the thief game series.

At current state you summon a fire ward out out DOS:EE no real fire elemental. It is an placeholder skill, not fully functional. Said the missed to adress this in anyway in the game or just by keeping that damn skill out of the game like many others.

Yes I know, it's also called "totem". Doesn't mean they couldn't reuse assets for different purposes.
