I've heard that you can use Buddy to end up finding the child. I can't figure out how to do this. Are these people YANKIN' my CHAIN?

I've heard a couple of suggestions that it is possible to find the missing child, but have also yet to find a way. In the absence of any details I remain to be entirely convinced there is a happy outcome.

Then again, I've been unable to satisfactorily or consistently conclude Buddy's own quest to date, either, so either I'm messing it up or the quest isn't finished (or debugged) yet.

Is there any way to resolve that quest if you do NOT have Pet Pal?

It's one thing for there to be quests hidden behind animals which are resolved via Pet Pal, it's entirely another thing for you to get a quest from a person which is incompletable without Pet Pal. It seems to me that you shouldn't even be able to start that quest without someone in the party having Pet Pal.

The only way I know of to resolve that quest requires a human in your party, as the woman won't talk to any other race. If you have the human talk to Fara, then talk to Jeth (next to her), then talk to her again, you'll have the option to break the bad news to her. She doesn't really accept it, but it does mark the quest as completed. I couldn't figure out any way to involve Buddy.

Just fly to Pallet town and walk around the truck seven times. You'll be able to push the truck after that and find the next step underneath...
