FOR SINGLE PLAYER (Enhanced Edition)

I just recently started playing this amazing game and I am having some troubles with my companions not fully following me. I am aware that you need to chain all the characters in order to follow you. I currently have total of 3 characters.
The problem is that if I control the 1st portrait only one will follow me. If I control the 2nd portrait all of the companions follow me. Or if I control the 3rd portrait nobody follows me. Is this a bug? I remember that when I just acquired Madora no matter what portrait I controlled all characters followed me. What could be the problem?

Are any characters encumbered?

Does it matter if you rearrange the order of the portraits?

Try unlinking all the portraits and relinking them.

Try verifying local files: in the Steam library, right click on Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition and select Properties, switch to the Local Files tab and then click on the 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache...' button.
With the GOG version, in the (optional) Galaxy client, select Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition in the left column, then click on the More button, and in the Manage menu select 'Verify / Repair'.

I have tried unlinking

-The group got split once at the Pirate cave near the ship. But with the teleport skill I rallied them altogether again and found a hatch upstairs to another area. I think its from this part that it all got mixed up.

-I have rearranged unlinked relinked all the portraits but no change.

-I will try to verify the local files to see if any changes or go back to an old save if that's the only way frown

Thanks!

Are any characters carrying too much weight, or have any status effects beside their portrait?

When you rearrange the portraits, does the problem follow the characters, or remain associated with the portrait order?

You can email supportdos@larian.com, with your latest save (or a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc).

For Windows you can use the report.zip file generated by the D:OS EE Analysis Tool.
Extract the zip file somewhere and run AnalysisTool.exe. When that loads, browse to the install folder (if it is not automatically detected), optionally run the tests first, and then generate a report (it will be saved in the same location as the Analysis Tool).

The report will contain system and game information, as well as your saved games. To reduce the file size, you can delete most of the saves from the zip (double click the zip file to open it in Windows Explorer, then browse down to the savegames and savegames_patch folders).

For OSX, saves can be zipped by right clicking the folder(s) and selecting Compress, in the folder:
~/Documents/Larian Studios/Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition/PlayerProfiles/<ProfileName>/Savegames_patch

Linux is similar, with the saves in the home directory.
