Codes: 523, 524, 525

I've played through a little bit- up to where you enter the fort in the custom scenario, and the game tries to autosave and can't. I can't remember the exact code in those cases, but after losing my character and having to start over because of a bigger crash that didn't leave a crash error code or anything, I started over and have tried saving a game immediately after starting manually, I get the above error codes immediately.

Any ideas?

Those error codes, if they didn't change from D:OS, are problems during the save process saving the metadata, main data and the level cache files.

How much free drive space do you have on your c: drive (or whatever drive you have your My Documents folder)? Did you delete some of the older saves?

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? BitDefender has blocked D:OS EE from creating files and folders, though usually with different error codes (119, 120), when loading or trying to start a new game.

Try creating a new profile, and see if that will let you start a new game and save properly.

Try doing a clean boot and then test the game. Click Start, or hit WinKey-R, type in msconfig and hit enter; in the General tab, click Selective Startup, uncheck Load startup items (if required) and leave Load system services and Use original boot configuration options checked. Next, Click on the Services tab, check the box to Hide all Microsoft services, then click the Disable All button, then click OK and reboot the computer.
Run msconfig again to switch back to the normal boot configuration.

Try creating a new Windows administrator user account, switch to that account and try starting the game from there, directly from the executable (..\SteamApps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\bin\EoCApp.exe).
